Coldplay and Amy Winehouse have long been iTunes favourites, but they are facing competition from unlikely rivals.
Oxford and Cambridge universities today launch a service that allows lectures, videos and podcasts to be downloaded from the iTunes website.
The move is intended to make the elite institutions more accessible to people across the world.
Very cool. I am checking it out right now. I like the fact that more & more universities are doing this...especially the "big boys".
One of the reasons for seeding this was so that I could go and have a look this evening lauhal. You're right, this is good for everybody.
Hmm, it seems the Cambridge site requires proprietary software (iTunes) - as a Linux user I know which one I shall be downloading from.
Yup. I'm on iTunes.
I've got it running in virtual box under windoze, maybe Cambridge will get visits from me too, but Oxford will be my preference. Must check out the US universities' output too.
iTunesU is pretty cool. I really like it. Check this out.
Great Stuff. I'm installing iTunes in virtualbox on one of my laptops as I type. I shall use that specifically for storing and watching iTunesU.
